What Is Bent Grass? Bent Grass, Including Creeping Bent Grass, Is  Grown Under A Low Mowing Height And In High Maintenance Situations. Bent Grass Is Commonly Used On Golf Course Greens, Tees, And Fairways. It's Also Used For Lawn Bowling Greens And Lawn Tennis Facilities. It Spreads By Stolons, Which Are Leafy Stems That Lie Along The Ground And Take Root In The Soil. This Growth Habit Can Create Unsightly Patches In Lawns. It Is Not One Of The Desired Lawn Grasses Such As; Kentucky Blue, Fescues or Rye Grasses.
